I should start by saying that I’m a huge fan of The West Wing. It was the greatest show ever made and I don’t care if it went seriously downhill after season 4. Those first four seasons were magic. So what does that have to do with the Huntington Library and Botanical Gardens? Well, I’ll tell you. During one of those episodes in the first four seasons, a former president dies and the service is held at his presidential library. I remember watching that episode and thinking how captivatingly beautiful all the scenes were at this library. After some persistant internet research, I found that it was shot at the Huntington Library and Botanical Gardens in Pasadena, CA. I was living in Orange County at the time and eventually forgot all about it. Then recently, I read a list of things everyone must do in LA and the Library was on it. I knew immediately what I was doing for my next day off.
These were some of the first pictures we took in the Dessert garden area. This section had some of the most unique plants and flowers we had ever seen.
More to come…
