This last weekend was the LA Pride Parade. Some friends drove up from San Diego to join in the fun and Neil’s mom Leila marches in the parade every year with PFLAG. While we missed her float (bad timing), we did get to meet up later for people watching and hula-hooping outside Gelsons. After hearing extremely mixed reviews about Pride weekend from people at work, we didn’t know exactly what to expect. The overall experience wasn’t quite as crazy as I imagined, and I only got emotional once or twice, but it was still a great time. West Hollywood that night, however, a different story entirely. It was a complete disaster and safe to say we won’t be doing that agaian.

Highlights include: a bartender thinking my friend Lindsey was on The Real L Word, hula hooping, Magic Hat No.9 on tap at Red Rock, and two very different house parties
